It's exciting to be campaigning for Hillary Clinton. I was one of the pantsuit ladies way back in 2008 who mourned the end of her candidacy, but then I quickly jumped on board Barack Obama's campaign. Why am I supporting Hillary Clinton?
- Have you read her book, "It Takes a Village?" She really pays attention to the way that people raise their children.
- She took the lead on universal health care way back in the first year of Bill Clinton's presidency.
- She is amazingly smart, as is her husband.
- She supports climate change and renewable energy sources.
- She gave unstintingly of herself as our Secretary of State.
- No matter how down and dirty The Donald gets, she stays calm and poised.
The average person hears only the first sentence and doesn't listen to the rest of the information. For example, I told a close friend recently that the House would be voting on gun control bills (I still gotta find out what happened with that) and she said, "So are they changing the Second Amendment?" No, I told her; nobody wants to change the Second Amendment. But the finer points of our government just go over many people's heads. Accordingly, I want to be part of an information machine that will keep people apprised of the actual facts. I myself check facts diligently on places like FactCheck and Politifact.
